Coffee helps me work

Coffee is a strange substance.  I don’t really like the taste.  Its acceptable if I put a decent amount of coffeemate in it.  I’ve never really drank coffee at all until now.

I am feeling tired, sleepy, lazy one minute… and then I drink a couple sips of coffee and a couple minutes later I’m energetic and motivated to work.  Its strange.  I seriously feel like it takes effect only a couple minutes later, and it only requires a couple sips to kick in.

Even days when I don’t feel tired, I get less work done than I do if I drink coffee.  Seems like coffee gives you motivation to work too.  Weird.

  1. You know, I like the taste of coffee with cream and sugar, and the last couple of years I’ve drank it the same way as you’re mentioning now, but my stomach never felt good afterwards.  So, once I got married, I decided to kick the habit and switch to tea.  Tea doesn’t have nearly the kick that coffee does, but I don’t feel as nasty afterwards…but there are DEFINITELY some drowsy days where I miss the dark brown stuff!!!

  2. yeah i feel the same way, except when I tried coffee in college I started to realize why people like the taste of it. it’s easier to actually taste coffee when its black. The bitterness of the coffee actually adds to the creamy flavor. I don’t drink too much either otherwise i get very anxious. tea is good too

  3. it’s called addiction >_<

  4. sounds like someone is getting addicted… ;)

  5. Green tea helps me work.  I am having a glass of ice-cold green tea (half sugar, no boba) during lunch almost every working day.  It helps me get through the afternoon.

  6. no, Daniel is not addicted. :)

  7. Caffeine is an amazing substance (actually, stimulants in general). You know what works even better than caffeine, though? Speed -derivatives like Ritalin. In small quantities you get improved concentration and focus, memory recall and retention, etc.
