Bun buns update
Bun Buns is still static. We got to talk to the rabbit specialist Dr. Cecil today, and he said her chances for improvement aren’t great. They’re putting her on some steroids and a different antibiotic to get the inflammation to go down in her vestibular. He said we won’t get the test results back until Wednesday.
This is really hard on Cindy and I. I suppose it’s because she showed absolutely no signs of it. On Thursday night she was happy and doing her thing. Nothing was wrong with her. The next morning she’s on the ground unable to get up. Really sad for us. We were expecting to have Bun Buns for a lot longer. She was really part of our family as much as anybody was. She was in our wedding slideshow. Cindy did everything for Bun Buns. She bought her toys so she wouldn’t be bored. She would always be worried and sad for Bun Buns because she was alone when we went to work. That’s why we got Hops, to keep Bun Buns company.
Dr. Cecil said we could take Bun Buns home after 24 hours with the new treatment even if she hasn’t shown improvement. There is a chance that she could improve over weeks, but it is labor intensive to take care of her. We’re glad that at least she can come home. She eats and is really hungry when we feed her strawberries and parsley, so that gives us hope. But yeah, we’re really sad right now.
